Main Components of a 5-ton overhead crane equipped with a
Weihua 5-ton electric hoist
Metal Structure (Bridge)
Main Beam: Typically a box-type structure, two main beams span the workshop, bearing the entire load and ensuring smooth operation of the crane on the rails.
End Beam: Located at each end of the main beam, equipped with wheels and a drive mechanism, enabling the entire crane to move longitudinally along the factory rails.
Hoisting Mechanism -
Weihua 5-ton Electric Hoist
This is the "heart" of the crane, responsible for vertically lifting and lowering cargo. A Weihua hoist typically includes:
Motor: Hoisting motor and running motor (enabling the hoist to move laterally along the main beam).
Reducer: Converts the high speed of the motor to the required lifting speed.
Drum: Winds the wire rope, enabling the hook to be raised and lowered.
Wire Rope: Load-bearing component.
Hook: Suspends the load.
Lifting Limit Stops: Provide protection at the upper and lower limits to prevent accidents such as "top-out."
Brake: Ensures that the load can be safely and reliably stopped at any position.
Trolley Mechanism
Drives the wheels on the end beams, allowing the entire crane to move longitudinally along the tracks laid on both sides of the factory building.
Trolley Mechanism
On Weihua hoists, this mechanism is usually integrated into the hoist body, driving the electric hoist for lateral movement along the tracks on the lower flange of the main beam.
Electrical Control System
Operation: The most common method is ground-based operation, controlled by a remote control or a follower pushbutton box (suspended pushbuttons).
