A grab is a lifting device that grabs and discharges bulk materials by opening and closing two combined buckets or multiple jaws. A grab composed of multiple jaws is also called a claw.
Grab Classifications
Grabs can be divided into two main categories based on their drive method: hydraulic grabs and mechanical grabs.
What is a
Hydraulic Grab?
Hydraulic grabs have an opening and closing mechanism and are generally driven by a hydraulic cylinder. Hydraulic grabs composed of multiple jaws are also called hydraulic claws. Hydraulic grabs are commonly used in specialized hydraulic equipment.
What is a
Mechanical Grab?
Mechanical grabs do not have an opening and closing mechanism and are usually driven by external forces such as ropes or connecting rods. Based on the operator's characteristics, they can be divided into double-rope grabs and single-rope grabs, with double-rope grabs being the most commonly used.
