Overview

The coupling is a key component in the crane transmission system. It is mainly used to connect two shafts or shafts and rotating parts to transmit power and motion, while compensating for installation errors, absorbing vibrations and shocks. In cranes, couplings are usually installed between equipment such as motors, reducers and drums to ensure efficient and smooth power transmission and adapt to slight deviations during work.

Common couplings used in cranes include gear couplings, elastic couplings and universal couplings. Gear couplings have strong load-bearing capacity and are suitable for heavy loads; elastic couplings use rubber or spring elements to buffer vibrations and are suitable for high-precision transmission; universal couplings are used in situations where the axis has a large deflection angle. Each type is selected according to the working conditions and load characteristics of the crane.

The performance of the coupling directly affects the safety and efficiency of the crane's operation. Strict alignment is required during installation to avoid additional stress; regular inspection of lubrication status (such as gear couplings) and wear of elastic elements, and timely replacement of damaged parts. Good maintenance can extend the life of the coupling, reduce the risk of equipment failure, and ensure the stability of lifting operations.

High load-bearing capacity

Features: Able to withstand frequent start-stop, heavy load impact and torque fluctuations of the crane. Application: Such as gear coupling (transmitting large torque), universal coupling (heavy load multi-directional adjustment).

Compensation deviation capability

Radial/angular deviation compensation: Allow a certain range of axis deviation (such as elastic coupling can compensate for 0.5°~3° angular deviation). Axial floating: Such as diaphragm coupling can adapt to axial thermal expansion. Typical types: Drum gear coupling: Allows comprehensive deviation (radial ≤0.4mm, angular ≤1.5°). Cross shaft universal coupling: Used for large angle deviation (up to 15°~25°).

Buffering and vibration reduction performance

Elastic element design: materials such as rubber and polyurethane absorb vibration (such as tire-type couplings have significant vibration reduction effects). Application scenarios: Crane mechanisms with high speed or frequent start and stop (such as lifting mechanisms).

Adapt to harsh environments

Anti-corrosion treatment: Stainless steel or plated couplings are used for port cranes (salt spray environment). Sealing design: Prevent dust/water from entering (such as fully enclosed gear couplings).
