Overview

The hook of a gantry crane is the core component of the lifting equipment. It directly undertakes the function of lifting heavy objects. Its safety and reliability are crucial. The hook is usually forged or rolled from high-strength alloy steel and undergoes a heat treatment process to enhance toughness and fatigue resistance. According to the structure, it can be divided into single hook and double hook. The single hook is suitable for light to medium loads, while the double hook is used for heavy or large tonnage lifting occasions.

The design of the gantry crane hook must comply with international standards (such as ISO, DIN) or industry specifications (such as GB/T 10051), and be equipped with safety devices such as anti-unhooking locks or locking devices to prevent the rope from accidentally slipping during lifting. In addition, the hook needs to be regularly subjected to non-destructive testing (such as magnetic particle testing, ultrasonic testing) and load testing to ensure that there are no hidden dangers such as cracks, deformation or excessive wear.

On the gantry crane, the hook is connected to the lifting mechanism through a pulley block, and is used with a wire rope or chain to achieve vertical lifting. According to the working conditions, special types such as rotating hooks and electric hooks can also be selected to improve operational flexibility and efficiency.
